Welcome to Monsoon Fitness, my name is Joshua Jones. I am an online fitness and mindset coach committed to improving the lives of my clients with the following fundamentals: MINDSET, FITNESS and DISCIPLINE.
Mastering these will ensure you create an impenetrable mindset, forge a physique you can be proud of, and create a healthy lifestyle that focuses on personal growth.
Despite my current success and lifestyle, fitness wasn’t always a way of life for me. I wasn’t always disciplined, nor did I have the mindset I operate with today. In fact, my early teenage years revolved around playing video games with no motivation for anything else. For years, I struggled with diagnosed severe depression and medicated — struggles I narrowly overcame.
In my late teens I began drinking and self-medicating with various drugs. This self abuse lasted for years and only perpetuated my mental health struggles. Living loosely felt great at the time, but looking back, it caused me nothing but problems and gave everyone the wrong impression of who I really am for far too long. Mindlessly chasing pleasure to compensate for my lack of purpose, filling myself with distractions to cope with the void I felt.
I learned from my mistakes and dedicated my life to constantly improving my fitness, mindset, and personal development. This was the beginning of MONSOON FITNESS.
After years of working in unfulfilling jobs, I decided to study to become a personal trainer. Upon becoming certified, I began applying for jobs online and landed the first one I applied for—onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with a capacity of nearly 5,000. It was there I honed my skills as a personal trainer, training a myriad of individuals from all around the globe while voyaging across the US, Caribbean, and Mexico.
I coached individuals in the gym using a variety of equipment and workout routines tailored to their needs, provided consultations with personalised strategies they could implement into their lives. I conducted daily stretch classes to increase mobility and flexibility for groups of 30, 40, sometimes even 50 people. Regularly taught yoga on the beach in the Bahamas and instructed cycling classes designed to boost cardio and endurance. I hosted frequent seminars and educated thousands on the benefits of good nutrition and a healthy diet.
Imagine if I had given up on what I was working so hard to achieve—none of this would have happened. After my contract ended and I returned to the UK, I began working in gyms around London before moving to Rio de Janeiro, leaving behind the gym floor and an office overlooking the ocean to continue my work as an online coach. Helping people like YOU achieve excellence.
Now, I live a dream life in Brazil. I train Muay Thai four times a week, lift weights six times a week, and play football multiple times a month with the locals. I am in the best shape of my life both physically and mentally.
The methods I used to accomplish my goals and build my new life are the same methods I include and teach in my programs. So, let’s do it.
